Ik heb enkele vragen over een motorwissel van 1.8 naar 2.0 of 2.3 met lambda.
Op internet veel gezocht maar weinig duidelijkheid gekregen op mijn vragen.

Een wissel van 1.8 naar 2.0 (alleen motorblok) moet te doen zijn. Voor zover ik het weet zijn de 2 motoren identiek op de onderblok na. Dus eigenlijk gewoon plug and play. Enige wat ik daarbij aan denk is de afstelling van de CO enzo.
De brandstofsysteem is tot zover ik het heb gezien bij allemaal gelijk. Het onstekingsysteem is EZL-KAT met een krukassensor op de vliegwiel.

Nu zit ik ook aan een 2.3 te denken. Motor erin en eruit is geen probleem. Wat komt er allemaal bij kijken als ik van een 1.8 naar een 2.3 ga en dan alleen onder de motorkap. De versnellingsbak en differentieel laat ik allemaal zitten.
Dus de power van een 2.3 met de aandrijflijn van een 1.8. Dat moet stevig accelereren...

Mijn vragen:
Gaat het EZL-KAT onstekingssysteem van een 1.8 werken op een 2.3 met lambda? Zo niet, wat zijn de verschillen tussen de 1.8 en 2.3.
Zit er een verschil tussen de uitlaatspruitstuk van een 1.8/2.0 en de 2.3? Ik weet wel dat een 2.3 op het oog iets forser uitziet dan de tammere varianten.

Aan zaken zoals remmen, koeling en dergelijke heb ik allemaal aan gedacht. Ik kan een motorblok op de kop tikken zonder enige stuurapparaten en kabelboom. Alle onderdelen zoals potmeter, brandstofverdeler en diverse sensoren zien er allemaal hetzelfde uit...

en niet vergeten dat je hem moet laten omkeuren bij de rdw
als ze bij een politiecontrole constateren dan je een 2.3 ipv 1.8 hebt, nemen ze je kenteken in en moet je alsnog naar de rdw

Lees op meerdere sites dat je zelfs met een verhoging van 40 procent aan motorvermogen je niet naar de RDW hoeft je gaat van 109 pk naar 132 pk 2.3 met kat.Dus een 1.8 verwisselen met een 2.3 lijkt mij op het gebied van je kenteken geen probleem.

Ik denk niet dat het om de vermogen zal gaan maar meer om de cilinderinhoud. Er staat 1.8 op het kentekenbewijs.
Zo op het oog zullen nooit erachter komen dat de 1.8 is vervangen door een 2.3 omdat het qua looks precies hetzelfde zijn.
Ze zullen er alleen achter komen als ze echt naar de motorcode gaan zoeken op de motor zelf. Of ze moeten toevallig een 1.8 ernaast hebben en zien dat de 2.3 iets groter van formaat is.

Maar keuren is geen probleem. Eerst wil ik weten of een 2.3 wel zal aanslaan met 1.8 ecu, ontsteking etc. Het gaat bij mij ook niet om de pk's. Als ik de 1.8 in de toeren jaag gaat ie er ook vandoor. De 50Nm extra die de 2.3 heeft vind ik belangrijker.

Ik denk toch wel dat het verstandig is als je naar de RDW gaat, waarom zou je het opzoeken?
Ik heb zelf nog niet gereden met een 2.3, maar ervaar wel een behoorlijk verschil tussen een 1.8 en 2.0E.

Je hebt denk ik de computers nodig van een 2.3 en misschien ook de injectoren.

Ik heb een 2.3 8V uit 1992, je kan eens komen vergelijken. Ook omgeving 's-Hertogenbosch.

Dat zou heel handig zijn

De klus is grotendeels klaar.
De 1.8 is eruit en de 2.3 zit erin. Het is een M102.985 maar de bouwjaar weet ik niet. Dus eentje die tussen 88-90 is gemaakt met 132PK of eentje van tussen 91-93 met 136PK. Maakt mij niet veel uit want heb nu koppel van 200Nm en daar ging het bij mij om.

De swap ging redelijk eenvoudig maar toch met enige frustraties omdat ik niet een brug ter beschikking had. Dus deed ik het in de achtertuin. Auto op bokken gezet en de bak eerst eronderuit gehaald en daarna de vloeistoffen eruit en alles losmaken. Heel simpel eigenlijk. Omdat ik later in de avond pas gebruik kon maken van een takel heb ik de eerste dag alleen alles gedemonteerd. De tweede dag kon de motor eruit.

De 2.3 komt uit een W201. De motor was verder helemaal kaal dus geen waterpomp, spanrol, vliegwiel etc etc. Alleen de gasklep en de sensoren zaten er nog op. Blok heeft 130.000 gelopen. Das de helft minder van wat er bij mij op de teller staat.
De vliegwiel, koppeling, versnellingsbak, ECU en ontstekingsmodule komen uit een 230E uit 1991. Deze had 171.000 km gelopen en was de motor van kapot. Auto werd verkocht in onderdelen en ik nam de nodige spullen mee:D.

Goed, alle aanbouwdelen van de 1.8 overgezet op de 2.3. De motoren zijn identiek en alles is plug en play. Motor ingebouwd en sloeg de eerste keer al gelijk en alles liep al gelijk goed.

Veel foto's heb ik niet omdat als ik aan een klus begin, ik ook van doorwerken houd. Dingen tussendoor doen zoals foto's houd me van de gang af die ik er dan altijd lekker in heb zitten. Heb naderhand wel filmpjes van de power gemaakt.

Dingen die ik heb vervangen: Motor, versnellingsbak, vliegwiel, ecu, onstekingsmodule en waterpomp. De rest is plug and play. De differentieel heb ik laten zitten. Dit is een 3.64 diff die hoort bij een 1.8 5-bak en de verzetten zitten een beetje aan de korte kant. Hij klimt snel maar soepel in de toeren met een stevige duw in de rug. Heet mooiste is, drempels en afslagen kan ik voortaan nemen in z'n 3. Het brommen in de lage toeren is ook over.

Naderhand heb ik de termostaat moeten vervangen en de injectoren lekken dus die moeten nog vervangen worden.

Oh ja, het verbruik is stevig omdat ik hem momenteel best wel door stamp. De koppel is erg verslavend.

Dat rijdt pittig.
Waarom heb je niet gelijk de schutbordisolatie vervangen? Je kan er juist zo makkelijk bij als de motor eruit is.

Ja, dat is een mooie vraag want ik weet dat ik daar ook wel aan gedacht had. Waarom ik er geen werk van heb gemaakt, geen idee... Moet wel zeggen dat het met de 2.3 merkbaar stiller is in de auto dan de 1.8.

Zit de originele uitlaat er nog onder ?. Een 2.3 heeft nl een grotere diameter uitlaat

Loopt goed hoor. De 2.3 was de voorkeur omdat de basis al een 4 cilinder was en geen aanpassingen nodig had.
Wie weet komt er in de toekomst wel een 260, 300 of zelfs een M104 in. Voorlopig vind ik hem rap zat .
Over de CO kun je niks meer wijsmaken inderdaad haha.

M104 gaat ook die heb ik ook zelf in me 190E gelepelt heb er nu zelfs een compressor bij gebouwd #gaan met die banaan

Dat is een wat meer serieuze werk. Heeft ook wat aanpassingen nodig. 1.8 naar 2.3 is straight forward. Als je handig bent heb je diezelfde dag al de extra boost.
Maar wie weet wordt het iets voor in de toekomst. Ik zit er nu al aan te denken om een M103 3.0 er in te droppen.
Dus als iemand een 300E of SE voor de sloop heeft staan......
