Goedemiddag allen,

Mijn W201 uit 1987 stottert sinds dit najaar nogal bij vochtig weer, voornamelijk laag in toeren.
Ik hoop dit met het vervangen van bougies + bougiekabels op te kunnen lossen.

Ik heb echter gezien dat er ongeveer een factor 5 verschil zit in de prijs van bougiekabels (van 25 tot 120 euro).
Zijn kabels van gerenommeerde merken (NGK, Bosch) veel beter?

NGK is in mijn ogen geen gerenommeerd merk. Wij beschouwen het hier in de werkplaats toch een beetje als B-keuze. Wij hebben meestal Beru, dat is als het op kabels aankomt ook origineel Mercedes. Mercedes heeft ook wel Bosch kabels gebruikt, maar het was meestal Beru. Beru levert ook mooie kant en klare setjes.

Wat voor verdeelkap heb je?

Heb jij een 190 met de Pierburg 2EE carburateur of nog de oude Stromberg/Pierburg SU carburateur?

Vaak levert NGK ook 5 Kohm bougie doppen.

Zal bij de M102 net als bij de M116/1117 en M103 ook 1 Kohm zijn.

Ik maak ze ook zelf ( heb je wel een speciale tang nodig ) met originele kabel en doppen en die zijn inderdaad van Beru.
Helaas zijn de bougiedoppen door MB voor de M116/117 niet leverbaar.

Vind de kwaliteit van de Beru delen via MB wel anders (hoger) dan de complete sets van Beru

Voorheen waren de Bosch sets ook best goed toen ze nog van die stugge grijze kabels hadden. Nu zijn ze over gegaan naar zwarte siliconen achter kabels.

Vind die van Bosch nog wel goed genoeg.

Vergelijkbaar met OEM daar pak ik persoonlijk dus altijd Bosch

Wij maken ook wel eens zelf kabels, maar de doppen via Mercedes of Beru maakt geen verschil. Zijn identiek, ook via Beru staat het Mercedes onderdeelnummer er gewoon op. Mercedes krijgt geen andere kwaliteit dan de fabrikant zelf. Zou wel mooi zijn. Zou enkel anders kunnen zijn als het bij Mercedes toevallig nog oude voorraad is.

Dan zal de verdeelkap geen problemen geven. Goedkope merken willen nog wel eens weerstand opbouwen bij vochtig weer. Je zou evengoed even kunnen kijken hoe hij er vanbinnen uitziet en heel soms willen ook de Bosch kappen wel eens problemen krijgen met vocht tussen de zwarte kap die op de verdeelkap geschoven zit en de verdeelkap zelf.

Daarna kan je de bougiekabels prima proberen, zijn de kosten ook niet. Misschien is het probleem daarmee weg. Als het niks uithaalt zit het vrijwel zeker in de carburateur.

De 2E E carburateur is een draak. Daar waren nieuw al veel problemen mee. Ik ken verhalen van auto's die af fabriek al nauwelijks rijbaar waren, zo slecht wilden ze lopen. Menig trouw Mercedesklant is van een koude kermis thuisgekomen.
Ze zijn er bij Mercedes na nog niet eens twee jaar productie van ellende mee gestopt. Een carburateur met elektronische aansturing en lambdaregeling was gewoon geen gelukkig huwelijk. Ze werden als nieuwe auto's na een paar duizend kilometer ook wel eens teruggebouwd naar de Pierburg 175CDT, maar dan moest de katalysator er ook onder vandaan. Dat was met de APK dan altijd een gok voor de dealer of ze geen steekproef hadden . Ze komen ook regelmatig nog voorbij met lage kilometerstanden en dat heeft dus deze reden. Ik wil je hiermee geenszins ellende aanpraten hoor, als hij het goed doet lekker blijven rijden!

Oei, dan heb ik zo'n drakonische wagen te pakken ben ik bang voor.

Ik heb deze wagen 2,5 jaar geleden gekocht met maar 77.000 km op de teller.
Ik heb er nu 27.000 km redelijk probleemloos mee gereden, behalve dat hij bij koud weer niet uit zichzelf blijft lopen, dan moet ik continu gas bijgeven. (onder de -5 gaat het dan wel weer goed ) Ik dacht dat het probleem een slecht werkende automatische choke was, maar dat zal dan ook de carburateur zijn.

Ik ga binnenkort de bougiekabels eens vervangen en terugkoppelen of het geholpen heeft

De volautomatische choke wordt bij de 2E E vanuit de ECU geregeld. Gaat hij na het starten wel verhoogd stationair lopen of is het vanaf dat moment al een probleem?

Na het starten is het meteen problematisch.

De choke werkt haast nooit na het starten, alleen soms als het echt heel koud is en soms plotseling na 1 à 2 minuten rijden als ik bijvoorbeeld voor een stoplicht sta te wachten.

Misschien dat er dan toch een sensor niet helemaal in orde is. Aan de andere kant zijn dit nou juist de problemen die ze nieuw onder andere ook al hadden
