Klinkt wat cryptisch misschien, maar ik bedoel dat iemand van 1m90 of langer niet zo maar in een W201/190x stapt.
Ik heb dat vanmiddag even uitgeprobeerd bij een stadsgenoot van me.
Ik was er al enigszins voor gewaarschuwd dat de binnen ruimte van de 190ers minder royaal zouden zijn dan de modellen van de voorgangers, en dat blijkt te kloppen.
Nog niet eens zozeer de ruimte in de breedte maar vooral de been en hoofdruimte zijn veel te krap.
Misschien is er met speciale aanpassingen nog wat aan te passen, en blijft er hoop voor mij :blink:
Ik zit ook redelijk strak in de stoel, terwijl ik toch niet echt een dikke kerel ben (volgens mijn vrouw ook niet hoor ik nog steeds).

Maar goed, moet ik mijn wens om een 190er te kopen nu definitief opzeggen en in de Heckflosses of in de /8ten blijven rijden? of maar weer naar een W123 kijken? misschien kan iemand mij nog wat aanbevelen met deze krapte problemen.

De grote broer de W124? Dat is vergeleken met de W201 een echte boot.
De W201 is een leuke compacte auto en voor mijn lengte van 1.78 perfect. Voor langere mensen kan het inderdaad wat aan de krappe kant zijn. En als je de bestuurdersstoel daarop instelt kan er bijna niemand achterin zitten :laugh:

Ik ben 1.93m, 96kg en ervaar dit probleem niet, hoofdruimte zat, en de breedte is maar net wat je gewend bent.
Ik zit goed. Op de achterbank pas ik niet, maar gelukkig heb ik mijn vaste zitplek achter het stuur :)

Ik ben 1.99 meter lang en ik pas qua hoogte precies in de wagen. En die voorstoel kan trouwens een heel eind naar achter, serieus. De voorstoelen zijn niet de beste die Mercedes ooit gemaakt heeft, maar ik houd het een aardig poosje uit.

Ik ben zelf 1.87 en heb 1993er karo stoelen geplaatst, zitgedeelte met een draaiknop erg goed te verstellen.

Hoi lange mannen, misschien ben ik dus wel wat verwend met die andere Benzen, dat zal zeker wel.
Maar daarom hou ik ook zo veel van dit probleemloze merk.
Een andere, lagere stoel is een optie, een kleiner stuur is misschien een verbetering.
De stoel helemaal naar achteren vind ik niet prettig rijden, je zit dan rechts al snel tegen de B steijl te kijken, terwijl daar juist het gevaar vandaan komt in de practijk.
Probleem met instappen is ook dat ik niet weet waar en hoe ik mijn voeten moet plaatsen, ik steek ze om te beginnen maar achter de pedalen, om niet gelijk al met mijn knieen tegen het stuur geklemd te zitten.

De grotere en veeel ruimere W124 daarvoor zit ik ook te krap, bij kas dan voornamelijk :blush:
Je komt dan in de hogere verzekering en de behoorlijk hogere wegen belasting, en dat voor een auto waar ik misschien maar 5 a 6K kilometer per jaar mee zal rijden, pfff wat een teleurstelling.

Ik ben 1,93m. heb ook nergens moeite mee. Heb de stoel ook echt niet helemaal naar achter of helemaal in zijn laagste stand. Heb het standaard stuurwiel er nog inzitten (42cm?). Heb wel dat ik bij het instappen zo een beetje eerst mijn knie in de auto steek en dan mijn onderbeen onder het stuurwiel doorzwaai en in een vloeiend beweging zit. Ik zit daarna beslist niet klem in de auto. het is wel waar dat in een x aantal andere auto's ik dat niet hoef te doen :P

EDIT: Ik heb een kameraad die ongeveer 1,98 is. Die kan inderdaad, uiteindelijk, in de auto zitten en er mee rijden. Daar is het dan ook echt mee gezegd. Die zit niet comfortabel.

Ik ben 1.88 en kan goed zitten. Met een schuifdak heb je iets minder hoofdruimte maar het kan. Het zijn kleine wagens maar het is te doen. Het houdt echt niet over als je 190 of langer bent.

ik ben 1.93 en kan prima zitten in mn leren stoelties. helaas zie je in het plafond wel iets een plek van mijn haar die telkens in het plafond drukt (gel) :D

Is het wel gel Tom? toch geen differentieel olie, maar jouw lederen zeteltjes zitten misschien wat lager dan?
Ook een kleiner stuurwiel draagt bij aan het instap gemak denk ik.
Bij de auto waar in vanmiddag even heb getest op zit comfort was het stuur ca 40 cm. in diameter.
Dat zal wel de normale stuur afmeting zijn.
Ik ben op mijn 70e zo trots op het feit dat ik nog haar op m'n kop heb dat ik me ook niet helemaal kaal laat scheren.
Nee, ik verkeer echt in een inpasse, en dat terwijl ik het hier in korte tijd al zo naar m'n heb :blink:

Optie géén schuifdak, automaat (meer ruimte bij pedalen), kleiner stuur.
(Originele sturen voor de W201 zijn er in 39, 40 en 41 cm diameter en tientallen varianten die origineel en vanuit de accessoire brochure van Mercedes als optie destijds te bestellen waren).

Hoi Jan bedankt voor de suggesties, auto maat is inderdaad ruimte sparend, opendakje hoeft ook niet perce voor mij.
Het verbaast mij dat die stuurwielen zo weinig verschil hebben, je zou verwachten dat een sport stuurtje veel kleiner zou zijn.
Paus mobiele is ook niet verkeerd, maar die zie je zelden op MP, maar is verder een "zalige" wagen, dat wel natuurlijk en kan ik ook mijn meijter ophouden :lol:
Nou wederom bedankt voor alle serieuze ludieke suggesties, ik slaap er nog een nachtje over.

Wat je zegt over het tegen de B stijl aankijken daar kan ik wel inkomen. Dit is op te lossen met een A-sperische spiegel aan de bestuurderskant. Ik wil sowieso niet meer zonder ook al ben ik maar 1,75.
