Specifieke zaken omtrent het rijden op diesel, met de W201 kunnen hier geplaatst worden zodat we alle zaken omtrent diesel hier verzameld hebben staan.

Zo, zal ik eens een stomme vraag stellen....

Ik knooi al jaren aan allerlei verschillende auto's, en oliepeil controleren deed ik altijd op dezelfde manier; koude motor, en dan peilen, als het tot max staat is het goed. Nu nij de Mercedes is dat schijnbaar toch weer anders, want het boekje schrijft voor dat je binnen 5 min na afstellen van de motor moet peilen, dus bij warme motor. Als het peil dan op max staat is het goed. ? dan zit er nog olie bovenin het blok....?

Als ik de voorgeschreven hvh olie in het blok kieper, en dan ga peilen bij een koud blok, (uiteraard nadat de motor het filter heeft gevuld), dan loopt kennelijk het filter toch leeg na verloop van tijd en krijg je een aflezing te zien die boven max staat.

Wat is dus de juiste manier van peilen? Koud en dan tot max, of warm en dan tot max? (de werkplaatshandboeken verschillen er over van mening)

Motor uitzetten na een rit langer dan 10km en na 3 minuten peilen. En ik vul altijd bij tot 3 kwart dan zit je altijd goed.

Maakt niet uit bij welk merk of welk type motor, olie pijl je altijd met een motor op bedrijfstemperatuur.

Mij lijkt het met 'n afgekoelde motor te peilen :violin:

Dit omdat de motor ook afgekoeld is met olie verversen.
Je hem afvult tot aan het streepje max.
De olie dan compleet in de carterpan zit.

Na rijden en meteen peilen, er nog olie in het filter en de onderdelen zit.
Zou je dan max. meten zal er teveel olie inzitten.
Bij te veel aan olie kan dit ten koste gaan van olie-keerringen.

Ik zorg altijd dat ik een paar MM onder Max zit als ik koud peil. :geek: kan je je geen buil aan vallen imho.

Ik heb ook altijd "geleerd" te peilen als de motor al lange tijd stilstaat, omdat dan alle olie naar beneden is gezakt.
Maar als ik in het onderhouds boekje lees, staat er ook zoiets als: peilen bij bedrijfs warme motor.....

Dus......

Ik weet zeker dat ik niet teveel olie heb bijgevuld bij de laatste beurt. En toch, als de motor koud is en ik peil het niveau dan.....juist, zit er teveel in. Behalve als de motor op temperatuur is, en het peilen gebeurt binnen die 5 min, dan is alles ok.

Leuk wel, dat ik dus niet de enige ben die het dènkt te weten, maar het dus niet weet...... :think:
Ik ga het vwb de Benz betreft maar houden op warm peilen.....dan volg ik iig wat ze daar in Sindelfingen hebben uitgevonden als de waarheid, en dat moet dan wel goed zijn, toch?

goed of verkeerd peilen maakt geen niks uit

te laat of niet peilen maakt wel uit :mrgreen:

Dat heb je mooi goed!
De jongere generatie weet helaas d peilstok minder goed te vinden dan de oude garde weet ik inmiddels.
Het vriendje van de oudste kwam laatst voorbij, zegt ie: hij tikt zo...Ik: zit er wel olie in dan? Hij: uhm dat weet ik eigenlijk niet, ik heb nog nooit gepeild... Nou, de dipstick was mooi droog....pas na 2 liter kwam er wat aan de punt te hangen :o En dat was niet de eerste keer dat ik dit zag, eerder ook al bij een zoon van vrienden.

Dan ben ik een uitzondering... Controleer meestal wekelijks de olie. En eventuele lekkage.

Ik vond het in het begin ook vreemd, peilen bij warme motor. Maar ik volg toch maar gewoon wat in het MB boekje staat.
Het zal er niet voor niets in staan.

Warm of koud peilen?

Maar pas wel op met bijvullen bij een te warmen motor!
Als je "koude" olie op de nokassen laat lopen krijg je te snel te veel afkoeling…
Let hierop!

zoals ik het heb geleerd is dat je het peilen met een warme motor doet omdat er dan nog olie in het filter zit je kan wel met een koude motor gaan peilen en dan zeggen hij is goed als die max aangeeft maar vergeet dan niet dat inderdaad bij de diesel's het filter bij het starten gevuld wordt wat dus betekent dat je restrerende olie minder wordt en er te weinig olie in je blok zou zitten.
