Carglass gebeld en hun willen nu onderin kitten.
Volgens hun hoeft het raam er niet uit.
Naar mijn mening wel om rondom te kitten.
Ik zeg eruit en helemaal kitten.
Binnen en buitenkant naar mijn idee.

Ja, raam eruit en rondom kitten is natuurlijk het beste.

Ik heb hetzelfde geintje bij de hand gehad.
Met misschien dat verschil dat ik de oude ruit en rubber er zelf uitgesneden had.
Er zat geen kit maar een soort stugge mastiek in. Dit was van 'huis uit" de af fabriek.
De mastiek zat alleen royaal bovenaan en aan de zijkanten. Onderaan zat bijna niets.

Door omstandigheden moest ik de oude ruit er weer in laten zetten, dus met een nieuw origineel rubber.
Dat was bij een glasschade bedrijf, omdat ik niet naar Carglass wilde (ook slechte ervaringen mee)
De ruit was niet gekit en lekte, dat is bij jou dus ook zo. Als je het origineel nieuwe rubber bekijkt zou het niet kunnen lekken, die constructie is wel zo prima dat water geen kans zou kunnen maken, maar wel dus.

Omdat ook bij dit glasschade bedrijf de zaak weer zo verschrikkelijk lelijk en slecht was afgewerkt onstond diezelfde discussie die jij nu hebt.

Ik moest de auto brengen en hem daar een paar dagen laten, want de kit moest goed drogen.
Toevallig weet ik iets van kit en is dat onzin.

Ik heb de ruit zelf achteraf gekit en hij is dicht, maar het voelt niet goed. Ruit eruit en kitten is het beste.
Mercedes Benz verkoopt er speciale kit voor.

De foto van mijn 190, de strip aan de bovenkant van de voorruit is een geintje van dezelfde glasboer als de achterruit.
Strip naar z'n grootje en een kier ertussen van een centimeter. Hij zit naast de clips.

Maar goed ik geloof dat het goed komt.

Kippas, de verzekering ondersteund Carglass, en ondersteund de uitvoering door MB niet. Als je het bij de dealer laat doen moet je het zelf betalen en declareren bij de verzekering. (Is bij mijn maatschappij zo) Zodra je het zelf bij de hand hebt gehad weet je hoe het werkt.

Waarom niet meteen een ander nieuw rubber geplaatst?

Ik zou er geen genoegen meenemen met alleen maar onder kitten.

af fabriek zit er juist aan de onderkant bitter weinig mastiek/kit. hier en daar een klein beetje.
Van de boven en zijkanten heb ik een grote pingpong bal oude mastiek weggehaald.

Er zijn "kenners" die zeggen dat je niet hoeft te kitten maar de ruit erin moet zetten met WD-40
Het tegendeel is nu wel bewezen.

Achterraam moet gewoon gekit worden, staat zelf in de MB handleiding, is nooit anders geweest.

Als hij binnen is wordt hij zaterdag opnieuw geplaatst.
En dus helemaal gekit.
Zojuist zelf alles eruit gehaald.
En gewoon geen roest te zien.

Voel maar met je vingers in de gaten onder/achter het raam. (in de kofferbak)
Dan kunnen ze niet eens kitten ook.

Dat je geen roest hebt is al heel mooi.

Je zou er verstandig aan doen om ook die roosters achter de achterdeuren, links en rechts, eraf te halen en het rubber daar goed te kitten. De kit daar is inmiddels verdroogd als je het al niet een keer gekit hebt.
