oke luxe dus maar volgens mij was deze ook geheel aangepast, en toch staan die oranje knipperlichten voor mooi bij een Benz

Yup, oranje is in 99% van de gevallen mooier. Een enkele keer zijn witte blinkers mooier bij een gepimpte 190, maar meestal ziet het eruit alsof er iemand met een petje (met platte klep) de bestuurder is.

nou ik zit hiermee in twijfel met mijn witte Benz ene kant staan die witte knippers heel mooi maar oranje zou ook niet misstaan en origineel natuurlijk, tja wit of oranje

Ik vind juist het sterke van een W201 dat het in alles een echte jaren '80 klasse wagen is, het straalt echt die eighties Duitse degelijkheid uit. De oranje knippers maken onmisbaar deel uit van die uitstraling, haal dat weg en je mist een fundamenteel onderdeel van dat image.

Witte knippers kunnen wel mooi zijn maar dan bij een volkomen gepimpte W201. Vette velgjes, verlaagd, skirts, smoke taillights.. van die dingen. Als dat smaakvol is gedaan kan het ook heel mooi zijn en één geheel vormen.

Maar ja dat is mijn visie en ieder zijn meug zei de boer...

Ik vind dat er in de discussies over knipperlichten wel een beetje moeilijk gedaan wordt. Het staat helemaal niet slecht en vind het ook vrij origineel uitzien bij de latere modellen.
De latere types zien en rijden ook niet als een auto uit de jaren 80. Ik vind ze juist een stuk moderner rijden dan dat de auto's werkelijk zijn.

dat ze niet rijden als een jaren 80 auto ben ik helemaal met je eens, ze waren hun tijd ver vooruit.
Overigens, er wordt helemaal niet moeilijk gedaan, als jij witte knippers mooi vind moet je het vooral doen het is jou auto en jou smaak. Ik heb bijvoorbeeld mijn ouwe Becker vervangen door een moderne autoradio, dat is volgens sommigen ook vloeken in de kerk

Maar dat de latere types er niet uitzien als jaren 80 auto's ben ik iig totaal niet met je eens. de hoekige lijnen, de vierkante koplampen maken de W201 DE jaren 80 auto imho. de vroege modellen zijn duidelijk "early 80" en de saccobretter maken de W201 "late '80"

Over de early modellen ben ik het wel met je eens. De facelift vind ik persoonlijk een enorme verbetering qua styling. Ik vind het ook een erg tijdloos model. Het verveelt mij nooit als ik ernaar kijk.

Eigenlijk is (aan de buitenkant) het enige (direct) zichtbare verschil tussen de mopf en de premopf de saccobretter wat dan eigenlijk niet meer is dan plastic kapjes die het model wat "dikker" maken.
Maar inderdaad, dat maakt de auto op slag "moderner" en het kleurencontrast tussen saccobretters en carrosserie kleur maakt het model vaak een stuk interessanter.
Ik vind beide modelpflege schitterend op hun eigen manier en een plezier om te zien.

Overigens: Een prettig geluk bij een ongeluk wat de MRB regels betreft is dat de wrakken en verneukte W201's in rap tempo zullen verdwijnen en de mooie modellen van de liefhebbers over zullen blijven, mopf en premopf

Ik kom de laatste tijd wel opvallend vaak de nieuwere type 190 tegen. In mijn woonplaatst zag ik laatst nog een paar die ik nog nooit eerder heb gezien. Vooral in Den Bosch heb je de kans dat je op een avond 4 stuks tegenkomt.

Achja gewoon proberen die witte knippers. Ben je ze zat ruil je ze weer voor oranje. Het gaat om een paar tientjes. Ik heb nog een paar witte liggen.

Dit is de enigste 190 die ik in 2 weken ben tegen gekomen.
In Zakyntos stad, met net iets boven de 3 ton op de teller.

Vandaag een vrachtwagen zien rijden met trailer vol met W201's, niet heel veel bijzonders, rij je ervoor bij zie je toch 3 stuks met evo velgjes en blijkt dat er 3x een evo 2 op stond een evo 1 en 2 cosworth modellen, ben de vrachtwagen gevolgd stopte bij een tankstation, en toch even gevraagd als ik onder de doeken mocht kijken en tot mijn verbazing was mijn telefoon leeg echt zo jammer, jongens, ik was in love echt dit liet mijn hart wel ff een paar keer meer kloppen!

Volgens mij ben ik er in dat jaar toevallig ook geweest,met een Ford Sierra mijn auto uit die tijd.
Dus 20 jaar geleden was je ook al weg van de 190 zo te zien.

Nou de 3 evo 2 modellen waren van een man uit zuid duitsland , hij heeft vroeger veel geld hier in gespendeerd had die het over en had kleine aandacht nodig ivm achterstallig onderhoud en heeft ze toen verder zo opgeknapt dat ze eigenlijks als nieuw waren. De evo 1 kwam vanuit berlijn, die stond al 15 jaar stil en de 2 cosworth modellen waren van hem zelf aangezien hij een nieuwe locatie kreeg bracht die ze daarheen
