Ja, dit herken ik. Ten eerste zorgen dat de bandenspanning in orde is.
Soms helpt het vervangen van de stuurdemper als deze door ouderdom niet meer functioneert.
Maar in de meeste gevallen ligt het aan versleten schokdempers. Wil nog meer stabiliteit dan helpt verlagen (dus verlagingsveren) ook behoorlijk.
Maar je zou ook de vrije slag van het stuur kunnen controleren (en indien nodig afstellen). Dit kan ook al het nodige bijdragen.

De stuurdemper zit inderdaad aan de stuurstang. Er staat geen spanning op dus je kunt deze makkelijk vervangen.

Je zou ook eens de hulpstuurhuis rubbers kunnen checken. Als die versleten zijn krijg je ook speling waardoor de auto wat zoekerig wordt bij bepaalde snelheden.

Dat klopt. Bij mij is dat setje ook vervangen en dat maakt nou écht een wereld van verschil.

Ik herken dit ook, een paar jaren geleden, na het vervangen van de stuurdemper en nieuwe sckokbrkers achter, was het over.

Vraagjes:

1. Is het vervangen van stuurdemper en/of hulpstuurhuis veel werk?

2. Onlangs heb ik n.a.v. berichten op dit forum mijn MB-kenner ernaar gevraagd: die zei dat hij het gewoon bij de APK-keuring checkt en dat het anders niet nodig is om e.e.a. te vervangen. Klopt dat?

1. Niet veel werk maar het is wel makkelijker op een brug, en al helemaal voor het hulpstuurhuis.
2. Volgens mij worden hulpstuurhuis en demper alleen afgekeurd (als er überhaupt al naar gekeken word) als ze er van ellende onderuit vallen. terwijl vervanging bij zelfs een kleine speling al enorm voordelig is voor je stuureigenschappen.

Je kunt er wel bijna vanuit gaan dat bij oudere auto's zoals die van ons vervanging sowieso nodig is, tenzij nog recent vervangen.
Mijn stuurdemper (Bilstein) is 50.000 km geleden vervangen en ik kan voelen dat die nu alweer moet.

23 en 15 euro: daar kun je niet voor tobben. ik heb het ook net op het lijstje gezet voor de volgende beurt met APK binnenkort.

en als na deze klus je van mening bent dat je wegligging nog niet echt lekker is, dan zou ik inderdaad eens goed mijn schokdempers testen. wat ook vaakt helpt is een echte bilstein verlagingsset . ik mail je wel even met wat info..

check in ieder geval je veren eens goed op breuk helemaal onderin bijvoorbeeld. vaak pas goed te zien bij demontage of met spiegeltje op brug met hangende draagarm. je zult de eerste niet zijn.....

Laatst heb ik ergens gelezen (weet niet meer waar) dat banden met stevigere wangen ook kunnen helpen bij windgevoeligheid. Maar ik ben een leek

Hoi Lex, de bout is goed geplaatst zo te zien. Bij een M102 8V motor heb je voldoende ruimte rondom de voorpijp om deze bout te verwijderen. Blijkbaar is de voorpijp bij een M103 blok anders. Heb je wel een originele voorpijp?

Wat bedoel je met stuurstang? de stuurdemper of anders welke stang?

Ik zou zeker het hulpstuurhuis niet laten zitten, dat scheelt echt een heleboel in stuureigenschappen.

Als het met de hand kantelen van de stuurstang redelijk stroef gaat is dat normaal. Maar als het voelt als losse speling dan is de fuseekogel versleten. Dan is het raadzaam om deze stuurstang ook te vervangen.
De speling op de bevestiging van de stuurdemper is minder belangrijk. Als de bevestiging van de demper een beetje kan kantelen heeft dat geen effect op de stuureigenschappen. Belangrijk is dat de demper zelf nog goed functioneert.

Hulpstuurhuis zou je beter toch maar vervangen. Kost dan wel wat meer werk omdat voorpijp los zal moeten, maar dan stuur je straks wel weer heerlijk.

achter zitten ook aan elke kant vier stabilisatorstangen, als het bij de voorkant geen verschil uitmaakt kan je het ook nog daar zoeken.
als je de auto even opkrikt en het weil eraf haalt zie je ze zo zitten. ja kan kijken of de rubbers die erin zitten nog goed zijn door ze een beetje onder spannig te zetten met een bandenijzer of zo. als je ze heel gemakkelijk kan bewegen of de bussen zijn los van de rubbers zijn deze aan vervanging toe en gaat de auto ook als een dweil over de weg.

heb de foto zomaar van internet gehaald weet niet dat erg is met die sluikreclame? heb geen banden met die mannen of zo.

nee het zijn er meer helaas....
misschien kan je ze wel checken voor de zekerheid eerst voordat je de rest gaat kopen.

Er hoort geen ring tussen de bout en de arm. Onder de arm, op het cupje, hoort wel een ring. Ik neem aan dat na montage de complete bout meedraait met de arm. E zit ook een ring tussen de onderste bout en het cupje daar.
