Het model uit 1974 (concept 1974_2) heeft aan de achterzijde iets van de toenmalige Peugeot 504 (lage taille-lijn, aflopende lijn van bagageruimte).
Ze hebben bij andere schaalmodellen ook wel inspiratie opgedaan bij Citroën (GS, CX, BX): m.n. de flank-beplating en de half gesloten achterste wielkast. Op de tekeningen zie ik ook veel Citroën-lijnen.

Het model uit 1978, de wat rondere (concept 1978_2) lijkt sprekend op een kleine W126 S-klasse. Zou ook mooi zijn geweest!
Maar het uiteindelijke model is wel moderner en daardoor misschien ook tijdlozer uitgevallen.

Opvallend dat de kunststof platen aan de flanken (Sacco-Bretter) er in 1978 al op zaten maar dat ze die bij de introductie in 1982 hebben weggelaten en pas in 1988 hebben toegevoegd.

edit: O, ik zie nu dat pas dat over de overeenkomsten van proto's met andere Franse modellen hierboven ook al is gediscussieerd...

Daar moet iemand van de MB design afdeling naar Japan vertrokken zijn, zou je zeggen.... Echter de generatie Galant eerder had ook deze design trekken....

En dat er een op de Galant lijkt kan ook kloppen; zie de eerste tekeningen van de Galant AMG, die zijn hier duidelijk op nagemaakt.

Verder lijkt er eentje een 123 te zijn inderdaad, en heeft de onderste wel wat weg van de 126.

Had de foto's al een keer gezien, maar blijft leuk zo!
