Als je een smartphone of tablet met camera op de QR code sticker richt (en je de gratis app hebt geïnstalleerd om QR codes te lezen) dan wordt je gelijk doorgeschakeld naar de veiligheidsdocumenten van de desbetreffende auto.
Met name bij zoiets als een ongeval waarbij de hulpdiensten moeite hebben om het merk/model van de auto te identificeren is dit handig, omdat hulpdiensten zo toch kunnen zien waar bijv. de brandstoftank, accu('s), en airbags zich bevinden, en welke delen van de auto het gemakkelijkst open te knippen zijn.
Je hoort één sticker aan de binnenkant van het tankdeksel te plakken, en de andere op de tegenoverliggende B-stijl (boven de haak waar je deurslot in aangrijpt). Statistisch gezien zijn dit twee plaatsen die meestal onbeschadigd blijven bij een ongeluk.
