Ik rijd met zeer grote regelmaat op die snelweg tussen Den Haag en Rotterdam en uiteraard retour en ik ben er dus van overtuigd dat wij elkaar nog een keer gaan tegenkomen op die weg.

Ik woon in wat tegenwoordig de metropoolregio DH-Rdam heet en zoef vanuit daar van tijd tot tijd met een 190E 2.6 in sportline uitvoering rond, in zwartblauw met leren bekleding. Nu net over 100k en voelt in alle aspecten nog behoorlijk nieuw. Het is alweer mijn tweede W201. Hiervoor een 2.3 16v gehad in rookzilver. Heerlijke auto en compleet anders. Geeft je het gevoel dat Mercedes zoveel meer kan dan 'alleen maar' comfortabele, kwalitatief hoogstaande auto's bouwen. En ooit is het allemaal begonnen met vele, vele kilometers in de 190D van mijn oude man, die zeker niet terughoudend was met het uitlenen van de sleutels toen ik een roze papiertje had gescord.
Af en toe pik ook nog een kilometertje in de E 350 CDI coupe AMG van mijn schoonvader, wat je dan weer laat voelen dat diesel en AMG vandaag de dag toch zeker in een pakket bij elkaar kunnen.
Al met al veel fijne Mercedes momenten.
