Resume: het motorblok trilde heviger dat zou moeten. Zeker voor deze km-stand. In eerste instantie dachten we aan uitgedroogde motorsteunen, maar die vervangen. Dit bleek ook weinig effect te hebben. Verstuivers en compressie werd uitgesloten. Toen ik vermogensverlies ontdekte, werd de link gelegd met brandstoftoevoer. Alle filters vervanger en ook het filter in de tank. Deze was flink verontreinigd. Omdat de auto voor langere tijd stil heeft gestaan met relatief weinig brandstof kwam de bio-brandstof in beeld. Biodiesel is een ramp wanneer je er weinig mee gaat rijden, aldus de ANWB. Onze diesel (B7) wordt tegenwoordig bijgemengd met 7% biodiesel (plantaardige olie en dierlijk vet). Milieudefensie spreek er zelfs schande van, maar het zorgt ook voor roestvorming in je tank: er komt namelijk water in je tank. Zo erg, dat zelfs algen een kans maken flink te groeien met alle gevolgen van dien. In de boten-wereld is dit al een bekend probleem en daar worden al chemische middelen gebruikt om dit tegen te gaan. Tip: zet de a.to altijd weg met een volle tank als je langere tijd niet gaan rijden. En misschien preventief zo nu en dan een anti-water middel zoals Bardahl Water Remover additief.
