Het bleek iets complexer te zijn als een dichtgeslagen katalysator. Er bleek een venijnig lekje in de koppakking te zitten tussen de tweede en de derde cilinder. Hierdoor heeft de wagen vermoedelijk een backfire gehad waardoor de inhoud van de katalysator en alle dempers is opgeblazen met een volledige verstopping van het uitlaattraject tot gevolg. Koppakking en uitlaat zijn dan ook vervangen.

De laatste update die ik heb ontvangen is dat de auto inmiddels weer aan de kant staat met een gebroken nokkenas.

Een dichte kat had je mogelijk (!) kunnen herkennen door de stank. Vaak gaat dat naar rotte eieren stinken, echt een heel nare lucht komt er dan uit de pijp achter.

Het is overigens niet zo dat dit afkappen en verkopen een paar maanden geleden heeft plaatsgevonden. De laatste stappen om de wagen te repareren zijn dit weekend uitgevoerd zonder resultaat. I.v.m. verplichtingen voor werk, aandacht die de andere auto's nodig hebben en andere privé-zaken heb ik besloten de auto te verkopen. Via een vriend heb ik een contact doorgestuurd gekregen die geïnteresseerd was in de auto en bereid was om hem direct over te nemen. Omdat ik zelf totaal geen handelaar ben en de tijd niet heb om te handelen (en met de huidige Corona situatie ook vrij moeilijk gaat) zag ik dit contact als een makkelijke uitweg om de auto snel kwijt te raken voor een redelijk bedrag.
